Goodyear and the United Steelworkers (USW) have agreed to extend their current labor agreement beyond the July 22 expiration. Under the terms of the day-to-day extension agreement, either party can terminate the extension by providing a 72-hour notice.

On June 30, the USW selected Michelin/BF Goodrich/Uniroyal as the target for the current master contract bargaining. The USW is negotiating with Michelin for an agreement that will serve as a template for contracts with other tire makers.

Talks between Goodyear and the USW will continue.
