Negotiations opened today for a new master contract between Goodyear and the United Steelworkers (USW).

Speeches were given by Jon Rich, president of Goodyear’s North American Tire business unit, and Jim Pecorelli, vice president and general manager of Goodyear’s Engineered Products’ North America operations.

Kevin Johnsen, Goodyear coordinator for the United Steelworkers, and Ron Hoover, executive vice president, Rubber/Plastics Industry Conference - USW, also made comments to the joint group.

Talks continue in Cincinnati between negotiators for both parties. The current contract expires July 22.
